Backflow Tester Repairs in Toronto

COMPREHENSIVE AND EXTENSIVE REPAIR SERVICES:

When we first opened the company, we would receive calls from plumbers who had taken their kit in for calibration and were told that their kits could not be fixed. In most cases they were told they needed to purchase a new kit.  We advised them to bring us the kit and assured them it most likely could be fixed.  And truth be said, we could fix all problems with their various “unfixable” kits.

It came down to the company may have known how to calibrate the kit but did not know how to give a tolerance adjustment if the readings were out of spec.  The second reason was they were familiar with calibration certification but could not fix the kit because they had no experience in backflow test kit repairs or had no backflow test kit parts in stock.

Our backflow test kit PRO has comprehensive understanding of anything and everything concerning backflow test kit repairs.  He has completed formal training at Mid-West Backflow’s US facility for total repair and calibration of the company’s line of backflow test kit.  That specific training also covers the non-Mid-West brands:  Apollo, Zurn, Conbraco and Zurn/Wilkens.  For Watts test kits, our PRO is fully capable of repairs too.

For all brand repairs, we have an extensive stock of backflow test kit parts in stock. All repairs are done in house. Here are a few examples of repairs we have run into over the years:

The most frequent repair is for a cracked manifold.  This is usually caused by freezing in the unit.  The other reason is if the kit is dropped.

Leaks can also be a problem. Leaks can be caused by worn valve stem threads or worn valve seats.  They can also be caused by rips, tears or pinholes in the diaphragm.   For Watts there could be a leak at the tube connection.

If anyone is having a problem with their hoses, we can replace the hose gaskets or the O-Ring between the filter halves.

Here a few pressure leak samples, in video, of what we have run into recently.
